wood carvings, glass sculptures, mosaics...
all sorts of 3D stuff
I dip in and out of woodcarving. I created my first piece in 2007 then let it lie for a couple of years, stopped in my tracks by a pathological hatred of sharpening my chisels... a mind blowingly tedious task! Having recently discovered a tool sharpening shop in town, I'm off again.
I also make 3D pieces and sculptures from other materials, including molten glass and mosaic.

This experimental piece in sapele wood (a fiver from our local wood recycling place) is my first woodcarving, the perfect way to learn how wood behaves and how to use carving tools.
It is ugly and clunky but I really like the texture and colour. I've sanded it and polished with beeswax furniture polish for protection.
