Paul asks…
How can I get a copy of Hogai Kano's "Lions"?
I am looking for a copy of 19th century Japanese painter Hogai Kano's painting titled "Lions" (c. 1886). Best would be electronic format but I'd take it any way I could get it. I saw it in the modern art museum in Kyoto and have written to them, but no response. Please help!

Artie answers:
I assume you already searched google.
Maybe try a library. If you cant find any books specifically on the artist, maybe you can find the picture in a book on 19th century Japanese art...? I would also try amazon.com that would be a good place to look for books on the artist

Carol asks…
For which Paris art museums should I pre-purchase tickets?
I am holidaying for several weeks in Paris in September this year. I am planning to spend a lot of time in art museums. Which ones have long queues (waiting lines), and so tickets should be pre-purchased? Here are some of the museums I'm considering (ordered by arondissement):
Louvre, Picasso museum, Pompidou Centre aka Beaubourg, Musée National du Moyen Age-Thermes de Cluny, Musée Quai Branly, Musée d'Orsay, Musée Rodin, Grand Palais, Pinacotheque, La maison rouge , Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Mitterand site, La Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain , Musée Guimet, Museum of modern art in Paris.
Thanks for your answers

Artie answers:
The Louvre, Musée d'Orsay and the Pompidou.

Where are some rad sites for teens to visit while in NYC?
We're going this August, and I want to know some places to check out. I know the basics, statue of liberty, ellis island, Greenwich Village, Empire State building, Modern Art Museum, Natural History Museum etc. But is there anywhere else I should check out? Something cultural would be sweet. and some good resturants....oh and of course good shopping areas, that won't kill my wallet. Cheap Cheap Cheap! but also good.

Artie answers:
NYC is Great! I suggest you to go to the Rockefeller Center. It is really cool and fun to be in there, you would enjoy the shops, ice skating rink, museums, and the city itself. I also would suggest you to visit Time Square, and Broadway Theater. There are awesome areas and places in New York City. You will love it! Enjoy!

David asks…
Is this how we should regard most modern art?
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/german-museum-piece-falls-victim-cleaning-lady-184055145.html
A cleaner has ruined a highly valuable piece of "art" by mistaking it for a stain and scrubbing it clean!
At last a bit of honesty in the over-bloated art world!

Artie answers:
How funny is that ?
Some great works of art have survived for centuries, millennia even. Some 'modern' conceptual 'works' are quite rightly binned as rubbish - by hard working low paid cleaners - who should be congratulated for spotting what is art and what is not.
