Your Questions About Mexican Art

Robert asks…
What do Anti Immigrants think about the following?
Even though it's in the economy's benefit for us to be here and WE ARE contributing...Antis still seem to hate ...they seem to self-blind themselves to the TRUTH for fear of facing themselves....they've forgotten what America was about, in between LATTES and XBOX and Desperate Housewives....that is the BLOND America of today
WE MEXICANS have not forgotten G-D and hold him as dear to our hearts as the pilgrims did!!! and WE will be America's Savior and future. WE will restore America
I came here as a baby and thus had no choice in the matter, and we came for political not economic reasons. I can tell you this, whether here or there. I GUARANTEE you I am capable enough to secure income and security for my family, I need rely on no one. I own my own business, as I would if I was raised in Mexico, because it is my preference. I can provide a secure environment for my family, here or there, as my father trained me in the handling of firearms and Martial arts.
I sleep with a Bible to the left of my bed and a (secured) rifle under.
I would be the same person here or there, because my parents would have RAISED me the same.
I am sufficiently capable of providing fully my family's need, and am here only by circumstance and custom(over 20years).
I WILL TREAD WHERE I CHOOSE TO TREAD AND NO ONE WILL STOP OR HINDER ME.
your assumption that I leech of you shows your ignorance in the matter, because neither I nor anyone in my family recieves social services. We are all provided for adequetly (all praise is due to G-d) and have no such need, nonetheless from you..or any other citizen in fact I pay to the tune of roughly $2500 in taxes monthly from revenue....So I put in ALOT more than some WHITE AMERICANS EVEN EARN!!!!!!
and that is what angers me.
and in so far as Mexico ..Ill grant you some leeway there, but dont your worry your pretty blond head...we HAVE OUR OWN DESIGNS FOR THE TRAITORS AND DRUG-DEALERS AT HOME. Just research Felipe Calderon's war on drugs and how Mexican Boys are risking life and limb...to stem the flow of drugs to your unwatched teenagers eager to fund cartels
Joker:
show me proof of your claim....I dont believe you can.
my proof is the amount of money 23 billion bing funded to Mexican drug-cartel scum, funded by YES YOUR teenagers....you know where the drugs are comin as much as you try to deny that all that appetite for drugs is here and the money makers are not crack or pot but rich man's drug COCAINE...and who is the average cocaine user ......middle-class white America between 17 and 26
give me a little time and ill find the link...but you can research yourself on drug-control websites

Artie answers:
Illegal is still illegal. Build the fence and kick out the illegals. We already have enough of the unskilled and uneducated here to deal with. Provide that secure environment for your family in Mexico. Your homeland needs your skills and business. Think of what you could do to help your beloved Mexico.

Hi...
Check the page where it came from... It´s about some people that went into a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico...
http://www.americas-photos.com/mexico/mask.html
you can also see some alebrijes that is another contemporary art.
About the sun mask... It looks mexican but it is something contemporary... It try to reflect something from the past of mexico, but sadly it´s a handcraft made by someone just trying to make his living out of it. That´s the realty of Oaxaca´s art craft nowdays.

Questions about Day of the Dead?
What type of food is typically included in the festivities? What are mummers? 3 activities that may go on at the cemetery during the night? Name.of a.Mexican artist known for his Day of the Dead art? Name of some.of his paintings? 2 other random facts thanks!

Artie answers:
Typical food: Pan de Muerto (Bread of the dead) & Calaveras de Azúcar (Sugar skulls)
The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.
Also, mexican people joke about dead, with some kind of poems called "Calaveritas".
Artists:
José Guadalupe Posada ("La Calavera Garbancera" <- this is the most popular-, "Gran calavera eléctrica")
Diego Rivera ("Día de muertos", “Sueño de una tarde dominical en la alameda central” <- i recommend you this!)

Nancy asks…
Why do Yankees move here and complain about our ways?
Some of them are ok, but letters to the editor show some stupid ideas. One letter asked why we didn't have an art gallery or subway. Being a college town, I think bike paths along roads would be good. I suggested a tunnel under the bypass before it was finished so kids can cross to the park safely, we hillbillys do have some ideas. I even wrote Mr. Bill that idea because White Water is nearby. Our roads are mainly on the same goat paths the Indians used, and they just widened and put asphalt on them. Just gets me the Yankees move here knowing the situation and complain. Least the Mexican's ain't complaining, but I don't understand why they don't speak any English and their goal in life is to come up here and drive our wages lower.

Artie answers:
Maybe us Yankees can't tolerate the blatent racisim and bigotry you southern hicks are so easily capable of. Was the comment about Mexicans and wages really necessary to make your point? Of course it was, because racisim is a part of southern heritage.
The south disgusts me. I am so glad I live up north.
