Have question about my high school TRANSCRPIT. How bad is this....?
Hello. I need your help. My high school GPA is a 4.0 on a 4.2 scale. However, I've taken two community college classes as a 10th grader.
I just checked my unofficial transcript, and my grades are horrible!
In the summer I made a stupid decision of taking Biology. What I did not know is that Biology was specifically for students who have taken AP Biology before. I had NO KNOWLEDGE about Biology, and we were cramming all the info in 6 weeks. So, I dropped the class late and got a "W".
Now, this spring I took Mexican Art History and got a "C".
This is what it looks like:
Biology- W
Mexican Art History- C "CSU and UC approved"
What would you do if you were me? Would you authorize this transcrpit? If I don't authorize it, COLLEGES WON'T SEE IT.
My plan is to attend another community college while in high school.

I would not authorize that.
Wait until next year when you take more college classes at the community college. Maybe you will get better grades in those classes. If you hadnt withdrawn from the bio I would maybe say send it, because the C in Mexican Art is not bad...

You can't get rid of the W and keep the C. It's either both or none.
One W on your transcript won't look bad... They'll be impressed that you tried to take college classes in grade 10 in the first place, and they'll just see that you maybe weren't ready for the academic demands of that class - that doesn't say anything extremely negative about you, unless you have a lot of them. What will probably interest them most of all, is your performance in the classes that you take after, because it reflects your ability to be adaptive and learn from mistakes.
There's no harm if they see it, but I personally probably wouldn't authorize it, especially if you plan to attend another school. A 'C' isn't that fantastic, anyway, so no loss. You'll probably do better in the classes that follow and you may not want the C on the transcript at that point.
