Abstract Art: A Figure Far Removed From Reality
Impressionism, expressionism and romanticism are those art and literary movements which offered key contribution towards the development of an evolutionary form of art called abstract art. Since renaissance in 16th century, a dire need for the development of an art with visible reality had been felt which could ultimately be fulfilled in the mid 19th century when a new and unique form of art was invented. The visual language of line, color and form which this particular genre of art uses in order to create a kind of composition which sustains an independent degree of existence against the visual references in the world. The 19th century is popularly known as an era of artistic independence for the artists. Before this particular age, the artists were given salaries and patronized by the church. This time general public became the main contributor towards the provision of livelihood for the artistic geniuses and consequently the role of church lost weight and ultimately diminished.

This work came into view in the year 1872. It renders more importance to the visual sensation rather than the simple depiction of the physical objects. The work of an impressionist, Paul Cezanne provided an impetus for the construction of a new basic art called visual art which later on developed by Pablo Picasso and George Braque into Cubism.
The 20th century art was highly influenced by the artistic movement called postimpressionism. The major proponents and the practitioners of the post impressionism include some prominent figures like Georges Seurat, Paul Cezanne, Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin who ultimately promoted and paved the way for 20th century abstraction. Even modern art owes its existence to the pioneers of the abstract art. Fauvism gained enormous ground during the early 20th century artistic activity. Fauvism is a term coined by the critics to denote the painting which is expressive, figurative, multi-colored and "wild" that emerged at the revolutionisation of the Paris world of art by per-cubist figures like Georges Braque, Raoul Dufy, Maurice de Vlaminck, Andre Derain and especially Henri Matisse.
The other terms usually considered to be synonymous with abstract art include nonobjective art, non-representational art, and non figurative art. When imagery is expressed in abstract form, it is far removed from the reality. This distancing from the reality can be introduced in three varying degrees, i.e. it can be slightly exhibited, can be sometimes partial and at other times, it can even be complete.
Abstraction is just not something abrupt; it comes in continuity. The realistic art ranked because the highest common is in some cases, a minimum of in the theoretical sense, regarded as a type of abstract art because ideal artistic visualization is some thing highly elusive and hypothetical. The partially abstract kind of art is commonly that which has freedom at altering the color and form conspicuously.
